Therapy and Counseling
for Florida School and District Leaders
Specialized Support for Principals, APs, District Leaders, and Educators Across Florida Dealing with Chronic Stress or Burnout
Drawing on my experience as both a licensed therapist and a former school and district leader, I offer personalized, flexible, and highly confidential therapy for Florida educators, principals, assistant principals, and district‑level administrators. This work is designed specifically for leaders navigating the emotional weight of public education — chronic stress, high‑stakes decision‑making, crisis response, and the constant pressure to support others while holding everything together.
If you’re seeking greater clarity, emotional steadiness, or support in managing overwhelm, anxiety, burnout, or compassion fatigue, therapy tailored to your role can help you lead and live with more balance and sustainability.
While EAPs can be a helpful starting point, many school and district leaders find that the support is too brief, too generalized, or not aligned with the realities of educational leadership. My practice offers a deeper, more personalized approach — grounded in clinical expertise and lived experience within Florida school systems.

Why School and District Leaders Need Specialized Support
Educational leadership carries emotional demands that most people never see. The combination of public scrutiny, constant decision‑making, and the responsibility to remain steady for others creates a unique kind of stress.
The Emotional Weight
You’ve absorbed the pain of others — students in crisis, staff in distress, families in conflict. Over time, this emotional load can lead to:
• Secondary traumatic stress — absorbing the trauma and crises you support every day.
• Emotional exhaustion and chronic stress — the cumulative impact of being “on” for everyone else.
• Anxiety, sleep disruption, and decision fatigue — the mental toll of constant responsibility and high‑stakes choices.
The Pressure to Perform
Even when you’re holding everything together on the outside, you may be experiencing:
• Burnout masked by high‑functioning leadership — staying composed, productive, and responsive even when you’re depleted.
• Perfectionism and the quiet pressure to never falter — feeling responsible for every outcome and every person you support.
• Emotionally charged decision‑making under public scrutiny — navigating legislative shifts, district expectations, and limited resources while trying to meet everyone’s needs.
The Personal Toll
Your commitment to those you serve doesn’t end when the school day does. You may feel:
Erosion of personal relationships and emotional availability — giving so much at work that there’s little left for yourself or the people you love.
Chronic hypervigilance — always bracing for the next crisis, phone call, or unexpected shift.
Quiet questioning of your career direction, identity, or long‑term sustainability — wondering how long you can keep going at this pace.
Whether you’re in the thick of it or quietly unraveling behind closed doors, therapy offers a restorative space to pause, reflect, and rebuild. There’s no need to perform or explain. It’s a place to show up exactly as you are, so you can continue leading with clarity, steadiness, and sustainability.
How Therapy Supports Florida Educators and School Leaders
As someone who has served in both school‑based and district‑level leadership roles, I understand the emotional, political, and logistical realities you navigate every day. Therapy with someone who understands your world means you don’t have to waste time explaining the context — we can go straight to what you need.
Leadership‑Specific Emotional Support
I offer a confidential, judgment‑free space where you can process the emotional realities of leadership without worrying about job‑related implications or protecting anyone else’s feelings. Together, we can work on:
• Processing the emotional impact of student crises, staff conflict, and community pressure
• Navigating the loneliness and isolation that often come with leadership roles
• Building emotional steadiness during high‑stakes conversations or disciplinary decisions
• Having a private, protected space to process high‑stakes decisions
• Reducing the internal pressure to stay composed and “on” at all times
Burnout Prevention & Recovery
Burnout in educational leadership often hides behind competence, productivity, and composure. Therapy can help you:
• Identify early signs of burnout before they escalate
• Rebuild internal capacity after prolonged stress or crisis cycles
• Create sustainable routines that support nervous system regulation
• Reduce over‑functioning and the “always on” leadership identity
• Reconnect with your values and sense of purpose without sacrificing your wellbeing
Cognitive & Emotional Skills for High‑Pressure Roles
Leadership requires constant decision‑making under emotional strain. We can work on:
• Strengthening decision‑making clarity when emotions run high
• Managing anticipatory anxiety around board meetings, evaluations, or public scrutiny
• Reducing rumination after difficult conversations or crises
• Developing tools for emotional boundaries in a role that demands constant availability
Support for Crisis Response & Safety Roles
School and district leaders carry the emotional residue of every crisis, which can lead to secondary trauma. Therapy can help you:
• Process the impact of threat assessments, lockdowns, or emergency situations
• Recover after repeated exposure to crisis events
• Build grounding practices for moments when you must remain steady for others
• Reduce the long‑term effects of chronic hypervigilance
• Create a plan for emotional decompression after high‑intensity days
Nervous System Regulation for Leaders
Your nervous system is carrying more than most people realize. Therapy can support you in:
• Grounding before difficult meetings or conversations
• Reducing hypervigilance and the constant “bracing for the next crisis”
• Shifting out of fight‑or‑flight after high‑stress moments
• Building a regulation plan that fits into an unpredictable school day
• Relearning how to rest without guilt or fear of falling behind
Communication & Boundary Support
Leadership often requires emotional labor that goes unseen. We can work on:
• Setting boundaries with staff, families, or district leadership without guilt
• Navigating emotionally charged conversations with more steadiness
• Reducing people‑pleasing patterns that lead to overextension
• Communicating needs clearly in environments where you’re expected to be endlessly available
• Protecting your time, energy, and emotional bandwidth
Support for Educators Who Are Also Parents
When you’re caring for students and staff all day, it can be hard to have anything left at home. We can explore:
• Balancing leadership responsibilities with parenting demands
• Managing emotional spillover between home and school
• Reducing guilt, overwhelm, and the sense of being stretched thin
Reduced Rates and Flexible Sessions
for Florida Educators and School or District Leaders
I reserve a limited number of reduced‑rate spots at $125 per 50‑minute session for educators and school leaders navigating chronic stress, burnout, trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, parenting concerns, or major transitions.
Session lengths and scheduling are flexible and can be adjusted to meet the demands of your role.
I do not directly bill insurance, which allows therapy to remain private and free from diagnostic requirements. If your insurance plan offers out‑of‑network benefits, I can provide a Superbill upon request which can be submitted for potential partial reimbursement. Insurance reimbursement requires a formal diagnosis, which would be included in your medical record.
